No More Credit Card Processing Fees!
Let GlassHouse migrate you to our Surcharge, Dual Pricing or Convenience Fee Model solution. This means no more fees taken out of your bank account, no more merchant statements, and the cardholder pays all the credit card and debit (w/Dual Pricing model) processing fees at the time of the transaction. Our solutions allow merchants to receive 100% of their credit card payments, while the surcharge, card fee or convenience fee is treated as a separate and simultaneous transaction that only the cardholder will see as a line item on their receipt at the time of their payment. This means the two separate transactions (your funds deposit and the cardholder's credit card surcharge, card fee or convenience fee) will completely eliminate all credit card processing fees for your company or municipality/gov’t entity. You will only have to reconcile the deposit of funds and not the extra convenience/processing fee.
All U.S. states allow for private businesses to surcharge credit card transactions except:
Connecticut
Massachusetts
Maine
Dual Pricing (Cash Discount) is allowed in all states. Essentially, the customer is offered a discounted cash price and a card price. This is presented on the terminal, giving the customer options on how they’d like to pay.
GlassHouse delivers a surcharging solution and processing service for private businesses that keeps you compliant with the card brand rules as well as state laws. We provide merchants with special terminals and payment pages that contain customized software that will determine whether they are running a credit card or a debit card - and will only apply the surcharge fee if it is a credit card. The allows your customer a no-fee option of still being able to use their debit card (Merchants only pay a small fee to accept debit cards).
We also offer a Dual Pricing model that allows you to present a discounted cash price and a card price. If the customer chooses the card price, they swipe or key enter their credit or debit card to complete the sale. You pay next to nothing to accept cards of all types.
For government agencies and municipalities, we offer a standalone virtual terminal for a desktop computer as well as a mobile app through our partner, PayGOV.us, which allows government entities to impose a convenience fee on both credit and debit cards:
